SIMILES AND METAPHORS
Simile
- when two unlike things are compared using words like and as.
For example:
Otto's fur is as black as the night.
He looked as inconspicuous as a tarantula on a slice of food.
Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're going to get.

Metaphor - when two unlike things are compared not using like and as.
For example:
Life is a journey.
Her soft voice was music to her ears.
