Brian's physical appearance changed throughout the novel 'Hatchet'. He became stronger and developed more muscle as a result of doing hands on tasks. After some time in the woods Brian noticed that "he had never been fat, he had been slightly heavy and it [his stomach] caved in due to hunger".Due to the physical tasks involved in living in the woods Brian's became more fit.
